An ultra melting cake soaked with a delicious orange syrup ๐
๐ฅ 1. Preparation of the oven and the mould
Preheat the oven to 180°C (thermostat 6).
Oil or butter a pan and then flour it slightly.
Reserve.
๐ฅฃ 2. Ingredients
๐งช Liquid ingredients
2 eggs
225 g sugar (≈ 1 cup)
250 ml freshly squeezed orange juice
Zest of an Orange
200 g vegetable oil or melted butter
๐พ Dry ingredients
2 cups of sifted flour (≈ 260 g)
1 tbsp. baking powder (≈ 12 g)
๐ For the syrup
200 ml of orange juice
7 tablespoons sugar
๐ฉ ๐ณ 3. Preparation of the cake
Step 1 : Mix the liquid ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk 2 eggs with 225 g of sugar until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
Add 250 ml of orange juice and zest. Mix. Mix.
Then add 200 g of oil (or melted butter). Mix until you get a smooth texture.
Step 2 : Prepare dry ingredients
In another bowl, mix:
• 2 cups of dim flour
• 1 tablespoon of baking powder
Mix to distribute the yeast.
Step 3 : Incorporation
Gradually pour the dry ingredients into the liquid ingredients.
Mix gently with the spatula, without overworking the dough.
Step 4 : Cooking
Pour the dough into the prepared mold.
Bake at 180°C for 40 minutes.
Check the cooking: the toothpick should come out dry.
๐ 4. Preparation of orange syrup
While baking the cake, in a saucepan:
• Mix 200 ml of orange juice with 7 tablespoons of sugar.
• Bring to a boil, then simmer for 1 minute.
Keep the syrup warm.
๐ฐ 5. Finish
At the exit of the oven, pour the hot syrup over the still hot cake.
Allow to absorb for 5 to 10 minutes.
Unmold gently.
Serve warm or cold... and feast ๐
