My grandfather left me a fortune of five million dollars, and my parents, who never raised me, immediately started suing me, demanding every cent.

The judge leaned back, unmoved.
“So you’re saying he’s incompetent, but didn’t you know he was the owner and manager of a big company?”

Claire's voice broke. “We didn’t know – he hid it!”

“And that is why,” the judge replied, “this conclusion is unfounded.”

With a strong stroke of the hammer, he announced:

“The case will be dropped. Mr and Mrs Bennett are informed that further attempts at financial exploitation may result in criminal charges.”

Claire exclaimed, “We gave him life! We deserve something!”

The judge didn't even look up.

“The trial has been postponed. "

Lucas came out silently, and his lungs filled with relief that he hadn't felt in years.

His parents didn’t love him — they loved the money they thought he had.

In the following weeks, investors praised his composure, the story went around business magazines, and people applauded him for his behavior.

However, Lucas simply returned to work and focused on the scholarship fund he created on behalf of his grandfather.

A few months later, while looking through old boxes, he found a letter from Richard.
The letter said:

“Create a life worth living – not the life you have to show off.”

Lucas smiled.

He finally understood.

His success was never based on proving his parents wrong—
He was more interested in proving that his grandfather was right.
